Printersly turns data you already have into a printed poster. That means we handle information about where you have been, which is personal in a way a shopping cart is not. This page says exactly what we hold, why we hold it, and who else sees it.
What we collect
From Strava, with your permission. When you connect your account we ask for the read and activity:read_all permissions. We receive your Strava athlete ID, your name, your profile photo, and your activities — including the GPS coordinates of your routes, along with their dates, distances, durations and elevation.
When you order. Checkout is handled by Stripe, which collects your email address and shipping address and passes them to us. Card details go to Stripe directly. We never see or store them.
What we create. The poster you design — which includes the route geometry you chose to print — the order record, and the print file itself.
To keep you signed in. One cookie, readable only by the server. It holds your Strava athlete ID and nothing else. There are no advertising cookies.
What we use it for
- Drawing the map you design and rendering the file that gets printed.
- Taking payment.
- Printing your poster and shipping it to you.
- Emailing you about your order.
- Keeping records of sales, which we are required to retain.
We do not sell your data, and we do not send it to advertising networks. Your activities are used to make the poster you asked for, and for nothing else.
Who else sees it
These companies process data on our behalf, each receiving only what its job needs:
- Stripe — payment, your email and shipping address.
- Gelato, our print partner — your name, shipping address, email, and a time-limited link to your print file, so they can print it and post it to you.
- Resend — sending order emails.
- Supabase — the database.
- Vercel — hosting the site.
- Cloudflare — storing print files in a private bucket.
One thing worth mentioning because it is unusual: the map itself is drawn from an OpenStreetMap archive we build and host ourselves. Most sites load map tiles from a commercial provider, which tells that provider where their users are looking. Ours does not, so panning around your own city is not reported to anyone.
Data is stored and processed in the United States.
How long we keep it
- Your Strava access lasts until you disconnect it, or until you ask us to delete your account.
- Posters you designed but did not buy are kept so you can come back to them, and are deleted with your account.
- Orders and their print files are kept for as long as we need them to support the order and to satisfy accounting and tax requirements.
Your choices
- Disconnect Strava at any time from your Strava settings. That immediately stops us reading anything further.
- Ask us to delete your data by emailing privacy@printersly.com. We will remove your account, your activities and your designs. Records of completed orders we have to keep, for the reason above.
- Ask what we hold at the same address, and we will send it to you.
Children
Printersly is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
If this changes we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects what we do with data we already hold, we will email you rather than rely on you noticing.
